چکیده

The wastewater effluents from textile industries contain highly toxic metal complex dyes. For instance, azo dye has received significant attention owing to its toxicity and environmental stability. This study investigated the oxidation coagulation processes effectively remove effluents. Potassium ferrate (K2FeO4) was selected as an oxidant because it a high potential, is environmentally stable, does not generate byproducts. Moreover, combination effect of oxidation. Its performance compared with single process (using NaOCl) FeCl3·6H2O). Based on jar test experiment, optimized pH estimated be 3 optimal dosage 56.4 mg/L for K2FeO4, removed nearly 100% orange II (OD) lissamine green B (LGB). However, removal efficiency decreased when increased 12. In all processes, completed in 5 min reaction. Overall, OD LGB were by NaOCl FeCl3·6H2O. indicates that K2FeO4 outperformed treatment without byproduct production.

Removal of H2S and COD Using UV, Ferrate and UV/Ferrate from Municipal Wastewater

Background; The aim of this study is to compare UV, ferrate (VI) and UV/ferrate (VI) methods for removal of hydrogen sulfide and chemical oxygen demand (COD) from municipal wastewater under a continuous condition. Methods; The experiment was divided into three parts: 1) pollutants removal by using ferrate (VI) alone; 2) pollutants removal using UV alone; 3) pollutants removal using a combina...

Abatement of Azo Dye from Wastewater Using Bimetal-Chitosan

We introduce a new adsorbent, bimetallic chitosan particle (BCP) that is successfully synthesized and applied to remove the orange II dye from wastewater. The effects of pH, BCP quantity, and contact time are initially verified on the basis of the percentage of orange II removed from the wastewater. Experimental data reveal that the Cu/Mg bimetal and chitosan have a synergistic effect on the ad...

Removal of hazardous azo dye metanil yellow from industrial wastewater using electrochemical technique

The environmental challenge of synthetic azo dyes is of increasing concern due to the serious health effects on animals and human being. Metanil yellow (monosodium salt of 4-m-sulphophenylazodiphenylamine) was selected as the model compounds for this study because of its wide application in various textile industries either as such or in combinations with some other dyes as color additives. The...

Efficient Removal of Diclofenac from Pharmaceutical Wastewater Using Impregnated Zeolite Catalyst in Heterogeneous Fenton Process

In this study, we report removal of Diclofenac (DCF) through heterogeneous Fenton process using Fe-ZSM-5 catalyst. The parent catalyst was prepared by hydrothermal technique. Fe species were introduced by wet impregnation. Characterization of the catalysts was carried out using XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, N2 adsorption-desorption, NH3-TPD, and acidimetric-alkalimetric titration. The bimetallic catalyst...
